Autosub3 mapping of submarine flow processes and products

Autosub3 mapping of submarine flow processes and products

A team of MAREMAP researchers at NOC has recently returned from a successful expedition to the Black Sea, where they deployed the NERC Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, Autosub3, to investigate submarine flows and map their impacts on the seafloor. The expedition from 27 June to 12 July 2013 was on the Dutch vessel, RV Pelagia, and was led by Dr Russell Wynn of NOC. The research was funded by a NERC Responsive Mode grant, which is led by Prof Jeff Peakall at University of Leeds, with other project partners including Universities of Southampton and Hull, and Middle East Technical University of Turkey.
